Herbal Medicine

Making Series

Personalized herbal medicine is all about embodiment!

Each hands-on herbal medicine making workshop will provide an overview of the featured medicinal herbs and techniques, as well as a review of their history and folklore. By understanding the medicinal power of herbs combined with different techniques you will learn to create personalized medicines to keep you and your loved ones healthy and happy.

Plus, each class will provide a lovely homemade lunch! Please let Todd know of any dietary needs prior to class and he will accommodate you.

Todd Anthony has an earth-based spirit, with a passion for plant-based medicine/food and using plants to affect and change the human body.  His herbal education started at California School of Herbal Studies and was a garden apprentice in 2011. In 2012, attended Herb Pharm as an Intern with the Horticulture Program, then stayed on as an employee, growing, cultivating, and harvesting herbal medicine in 2013. With his love of the garden, whether it be cultivated or wild, and sharing the stories of plants, Todd joined the Hawthorn team in 2015 as the Educational Garden Manager.  He found that stewarding land in the vibration of community, allows the forest to enter as medicine and to unlock our inner truths and capacity for deepening connections.

Todd would like to share his thanks for his teachers and mentors, which include Leslie Gardener, Charmoon Richardson, Autumn Summers, Rebecca Maxfield, Gail Julian, Tyler Wauters, Tamara Wilder, Karen Aguiar, Terri Jensen.

Todd is a faculty member, garden manager and kitchen queen at Hawthorn Institute
